What is the average price on a DJ?

If you're shopping for a DJ, the #1 question that you might have is PRICE! We won't deny the fact that there are wide range of DJs that charge different prices. In result, the DJ market is very unstable and unpredictable. However, we were able to quantify the average cost of wedings, proms, homecomings, backyard parties and corporate events. We pulled resources as Weddingwire.com, costhelperweddings.com, our previous databases, our own customers, prospects, and several forums that discuss this topic over and over again.

So! Here we go!

2015 Wedding Average Price $1251.52 (Out of 100 Weddings) 2015 Prom DJ Average Price: $1642.12 (Out of 50 Proms)

2015 Homecoming DJ Average Price: $2512.20 (Out of 50 Homecomings)

2015 Private Home Event DJ Average Price: $720.00 (Out of 100 Events)

2015 Corporate DJ (Production) Average Price: $1435.05 (Out of 50 Corporate Events)

We'd have to exclude gear quality as a factor as well since the industry has no standard for equipment. This is flat out market value and what the market dictates.

You may be wondering, WHY DOES IT COST SO MUCH!!!

Well, unless you want a DJ who does his job as a hobby, you're typically paying a DJ company so that they can keep the business running. Some of the cost that runs against the companies are insurance fees, music download costs, equipment maintenance fee, gas and mileage, rent fees, payroll costs, and much more. All to make you happy and have a great time at your event.

If you're paying FAR less than the average, we're talking about 50% of the price mentioned or less, you're getting a hobby DJ or you just got a bargain deal! So before you hire a DJ, be expected with those prices.
