Why hire a DJ in the first place?

If you're deciding on getting a DJ, you may question your decision on hiring a DJ.

Is it really worth it? Do I really want to pay someone to play some tunes?

Can I really rely on someone that I just called to meet my expectations?

Let's see why hiring a DJ would be a HUGE benefit for you.

1. These guys have been doing it for a long time.

While an average person plans 4-8 events in their life time. (Maybe more!) Be it a wedding, birthday party, sweet 16s, family union, etc., an average person seldomly has the task to manage and operate the music portion of the event. A DJ would handle 30+ events per year on average. Think about how much he or she has in experience. They've learned to handle the task of leading the dance floor to YOUR personal victory.

2. Quality is EASILY noticed.

DJs live, breathe and eat today's music trends and what people love to hear. With that, DJs who've done their gigs for awhile, they understand the psychology of the dance floor. The cycle of what makes people dance and when they need a break. I personally don't believe in this cycle (because I've seen people dance 5 hour straight...non-stop!) So if you think your iPod can do a better job, think again! Does your iPod read the guests on what they want? Can your iPod take you on a musical journey that you'll remember forever? Can your iPod interact with the guests? Hmmm. .Thin again! SORRY Steve Jobs!

3. What you Pay is What you get.

We've noticed that amature DJs price themselves low... It's not that their bad, but they lack professional confidence. We've also noticed that experienced DJs price themselves high. They know that they're good and they fully believe that their talents will change the event. They believe so with conviction. So when you get a price tag that you think that's high, you found the right DJ! Ta-Da! If you're saying, "Oh, I just want someone who can make us dance and they're not crazy expensive". Chances are, you won't get that outcome with a poorly priced DJ.

4. How Do I qualify the DJ?

Check out our past blog post of "16 Questions to Ask a DJ"

This is the perfect post to qualify your DJ as a professional or non-professional.

Being a professional myself, my life depends on my ability to make people dance.

It puts food on my table. That being said, professional DJs work harder, they improve every year and they will fight for you.
